Loungewear Sets For Traveling and Everyday
Nothing’s as cozy as clothes that are made for lounging at home in but also appropriate for leaving the house in. I found these ultra comfy loungewear sets that have upped their game and mean you can actually leave the house in them.
As much as I’d love to wear jeans or a cute dress flying, I’m more about the comfort and keeping warm and they always seem to make airports as cold as possible and the planes tend to range from saunas to ice boxes for some reason. Jeans tend to cut in where they shouldn’t and dresses and rompers are too cold. It always took me forever trying to figure out what to wear so it didn’t look l just rolled out of bed (although most of the time I have for super early flights) and would be appropriate for work or going out to eat the other end. My work appropriate is probably different to most as I don’t have an office job.
I’ve been layering these lounge sets with a tank underneath and a leather jacket and scarf (yes even in the Summer, I’m the weirdo you see in the airport that looks like she’s off to the Arctic) . That way if it’s hot out like it normally is in Vegas in July-September when our travel season starts, I can whip off the sweater so I don’t die, then throw the jacket and or scarf on when I’m on the plane or if it’s cold when I land at night. My husband got me into the habit of flying in sneakers in case we have to run for connections but they also keep my feet warmer than sandals. Most of the time I work in flats but if we’re going for a nice dinner in the city after work I can just throw my Loubs and lippy on and I’m good to go. I’m not sure how long the lounge co-ord and heels trend will stick around but while (that sounds wrong to me as I’m used to ‘whilst’ but my neighbor picked me up and said Americans don’t use that word so I’m trying to break old habits) it does I’m running with it.
I ordered this as I’ve never seen a houndstooth print loungewear set and I loved the shape of the collar, plus it looked more like an outfit than loungewear to me. I’m super impressed with this set (matching boxy T-shirt and cropped straight leg jogger trousers). I’m 5’2 and ordered a S/M. The pants are actually cropped length but because I’m short are full length but don’t need hemming, that’s a first! I found the fit more flattering when I rolled the waist band over once so it was tighter on my bum.
I loved this two piece so much I ordered 2 different versions of it. I’m all about the elastic waistbands when it comes to flying, it makes using public restrooms quicker and easier and they don’t dig in when you’re sat down for hours.
Relax ready, this black off shoulder loungewear set with pockets is super versatile for traveling but being ok when duty calls. The cuffed joggers mean they’re not dragging on the floor if you’re petite like me and the drawstring waist means room to eat and drink. I’ve been pairing this new loungewear set with comfy trainers/sneakers in the day and my fave black stilettos for a more dressy look. Modeling and acting when I was in LA created the habit of me always keeping a spare pair of heels in the car. For chilled evening drinks with the girls some barely there heels or booties and a waterfall duster coat will give this look the perfect smart casual vibe. PS: Don’t forget to tan your stomach (like I did!).
I wasn’t sure if this would be flattering or frumpy as the model on the website looked fab and her waist tiny but the real life photos looked very different (sorry, that isn’t supposed to sound mean). I’ve always had a thing for belts and loved seeing them back a huge come back at NYFW but had never seen a belted loungewear set before this one.
The relaxed oversized, long sleeve top comes with a matching tie belt and cuffed ankle style joggers which I wish more pants were as it works whatever your height. Great for us shorter girls as they don’t drag along the floor or need hemming and made long enough for taller girls too, plus it shows off your killer heels rather than hiding them. I’ll be swapping out the belt to a dressier one when wearing heels in the future.
…and with that I’m off to the next state. Just completed 7 states in 7 days including Nebraska which was a new state for me. I’m trying to check them all off!
